D'oh! I've fixed this now. Now it will give you a non-fatal message
telling you that you haven't set a home idea yet.

I agree here, but there's some behind-the-scenes stuff that makes it
difficult to do a Cancel button which will do what the user expects.
When you do New/Link, the new link is created, then the details dialog
is invoked. I could put a cancel button on the details dialog, which
would undo the latest editing, but this cancel button would not undo the
creation of the idea, which is what the user presumably wants. Another
reason for the lack of a Cancel button is for consistency with the other
built-in apps, none of which use cancel buttons on their details
dialogs. I think perhaps a better way to do this is to have the details
dialog check to see if the target field is blank, and if so to delete
the idea. This is fairly simple to do and consistent with other apps.
