Let's be very clear on this:

TheBrain has patented not only all computer representations of mindmaps,
but also any collection of notes connected by specific relationships.

This means that just about every weblog, web directory, mindmap, TopicMap
standard, etc are infringing on this patent.

----------------------------------------

Personally I think TheBrain has no right to hold a patent of this scope.
Certainly Yahoo and others would fight this patent. Most likely, it will
make venture capitalists and potential buyers happy, thus making Harlan
rich.

I don't blame Harlan for acquiring the patent. It's standard business
practice. I still think it should be overturned.

I believe that Minciu Sodas should file an Anonymous patent protest to the
USPTO.

Minciu Sodas has a number of member organizations that will be badly
affected by this patent. If the patent's are allowed to stand, then we all
suffer. If you need some money to cover the legal fees for filing Anonymous
protests, then I'm sure some of the members would kick in some cash.
Together we might be able to afford to fight this thing. I know I can't
afford to go it alone.
