Dang, now I can't make it happen at all. Typical. I still have the text-doubling, but nothing else. No extra characters, no crashing. When it was happening, the Euro was appended to the end of the string; when the string was doubled, the Euro was part of what was doubled. FWIW, when the weirdness was happening, I also saw it stick an "ì" or "í" (that's an "i" with an accent mark [aigu or grave, I don't remember]) at the end once, too.
